On 27 June 2026, Miss Asmaa Jamal Abdalwahid from the Department of Optometry, successfully presented an engaging seminar at the 4th Kurdistan Medical Sciences Organization (K.M.S.O.) Postgraduate Certificate Festival which highlighted the beauty and complexity of the eye's anatomy and the mechanisms that enable vision. Her seminar emphasised how Qaiwan International University is the only university in Sulaymaniyah to have a department of optometry.
